IESE-SONDI

IESE's services and instrumentation arm, IESE-SONDI, was founded in 2007 when UniServices acquired SONDI and Consultants.  Established in 1989, SONDI specializes in custom geophysical exploration projects and surface and borehole geophysical instrumentation. IESE-SONDI has more than 30 years experience in designing, building, and deploying long-term and permanent borehole instrumentation. All equipment is designed and manufactured in IESE's seismometer laboratory at the The University of Auckland.

Instrumentation Services

IESE produces a range of standard, fully gimbaled 3 or 6-component Borehole Sondes for deviated boreholes

  • Model S2, S4.5, G2, G4.5, S2M3, S4.5M3, G2M3, G4.5M3 - Borehole Seismometers

-Nominal 3.5" OD stainless steel sonde for <3 km or <5,000 psi installations

-2 and 4.5 Hz vertical & horizontals or 3 Gal'perin position seismometers

-Seismometers plus 3-component DC-2kHz 3 g MEMS accelerometer

  • Model S2E1.66 - G4.5E1.66 EUE pipe supported - Vertical Array Sondes

-Nominal 4" OD stainless steel sonde for <3 km or <5,000 psi installations

-2 and 4.5 Hz vertical & horizontals or 3 Gal'perin position seismometers

-Nominal 4" OD SS cable protector/centralizer coupling for E1.66 pipe
